When I came to Nebraska to attend Creighton University, I knew I found my new home. As a young woman from Hawaii, I thought the change was going to be difficult. Coming to Nebraska proved quite the opposite. I grew up in an Air Force family and we lived in many different states. However, Nebraska showed our family that this state had embraced the aloha spirit and our family chose to make this our permanent home.
Being elected to serve in the Nebraska Legislature is an opportunity I know I will excel. While volunteering at OPS after school programs and working in healthcare with those with cognitive and developmental disabilities, I learned that there is much more I can do by using my expertise to help craft better policy that serves all Nebraskans. Whenever I find a problem, I work hard to respond with a solid solution. Being a State Senator will allow me to act upon those solutions at a greater level, while still helping those within my community and across this great state.
